Payment possible with debit/credit cards as well as cash payments in CHF or Euro (daily exchange rate). 

Cancellation policy
Cancellations notified to us up to 30 days prior to arrival for seminar/retreat guests or up to 7 days prior to arrival for individual guests will not be charged. In the event of cancellations at short notice, late arrival or early departure, 100% of the amount will be charged. We recommend that you take out travel cancellation insurance (e.g. Elvia, ETI-Schutzbrief, Europäische, etc.).

General Terms and Conditions

1. scope of application
These General Terms and Conditions (GTC) apply to Casa Santo Stefano, based in Miglieglia, for the provision of guest rooms for the accommodation of customers as well as all other services and deliveries of Casa Santo Stefano in this context. The GTC are provided in German and English. In the event of deviations, the German version shall prevail.

2. Conclusion of contract
2.1 An individual reservation is valid without a guarantee until the expiry of the free cancellation period. With a room guarantee, your reservation remains valid even after the free cancellation period.
2.2 The following guarantees apply to a room reservation:

  • Credit card (Visa, Mastercard)
  • Advance payment of 100% by bank transfer

2.3 Different cancellation deadlines may apply to group reservations, and advance payment may also be required.

2.4 Online bookings are automatically confirmed by our booking system and are considered binding. If the guest does not receive the booking confirmation, the reservation remains valid nonetheless. If you have any questions, please contact us directly.



3. Services and prices
3.1 The customer does not acquire any claim to the provision of specific rooms. 

However, Casa Santo Stefano undertakes to keep rooms of the reserved category available.
3.2 If, upon arrival, no room equivalent to the one reserved is available due to unforeseen circumstances, accommodation will be provided in a room of the next higher category. In the event that no room is available at Casa Santo Stefano, Casa Santo Stefano will provide accommodation of at least equivalent standard in another hotel.
3.3 The customer is obliged to pay the applicable or agreed prices of Casa Santo Stefano for the provision of the room and any other services used by them.
This also applies to services and expenses incurred by Casa Santo Stefano to third parties at the customer's request.
3.4 Prices are in Swiss francs, per person/night, including free Wi-Fi, service, and VAT. The local tourist tax per person/night is not included.

4. Room handover and return:
Reserved rooms are available to the customer from 2:00 p.m. on the agreed arrival date. The customer has no right to check in earlier. On the agreed departure date, the rooms must be vacated and made available to Casa Santo Stefano by 10:00 a.m. at the latest. After this time, Casa Santo Stefano may charge 50% of the full accommodation price (list price) for use of the room beyond the contractual period until 2:00 p.m. and 100% after 2:00 p.m. due to the late vacating of the room.

5. Payment
5.1 Invoices from Casa Santo Stefano without a due date are payable without deduction within 20 days of receipt of the invoice.
5.2 Casa Santo Stefano is entitled to demand a reasonable advance payment or security deposit upon conclusion of the contract or thereafter. The amount of the advance payment and the payment dates will be announced with the offer.
5.3 In the event of no-show or cancellation after the expiry of the free cancellation period, Casa Santo Stefano is entitled to debit the entire invoice amount from the guarantee credit card. If the customer is resident abroad, Casa Santo Stefano reserves the right to debit the entire invoice amount from the guarantee credit card. Any exchange rate differences or bank charges shall be borne by the customer.
5.4 For online bookings, the total amount of the reserved service, including the statutory visitor's tax, will be debited from the specified credit card immediately upon completion of the booking.

6 Cancellation conditions
6.1 Cancellation conditions for individual guests:

  • Individual reservations are normally considered definitive once the offer has been confirmed by Casa Santo Stefano.
  • In the event of a last-minute withdrawal after the cancellation deadline, one night's accommodation may be charged at 100%.
  • Cancellation conditions may vary depending on the offer. For certain rates, however, special conditions apply that no longer allow cancellation.
  • Unless otherwise stated, the following conditions apply to individual reservations:
    • Up to 7 days before arrival free of charge, thereafter 100% of the service will be charged.
  • 6.2 Cancellation conditions for seminar/retreat guests:
    • Up to 30 days before arrival free of charge, thereafter 100% of the service (entire arrangement, incl. accommodation, meals and any course fees) will be charged.

7. withdrawal Casa Santo Stefano
If an agreed advance payment or guarantee is not made even after a reasonable grace period set by Casa Santo Stefano has expired, Casa Santo Stefano is entitled to withdraw from the contract. Furthermore, Casa Santo Stefano is entitled to withdraw from the contract extraordinarily for objectively justified reasons, for example if:

  • force majeure or other circumstances for which Casa Santo Stefano is not responsible make it impossible to fulfill the contract.
  • rooms are booked under misleading or false statements of material facts, e.g. in the person of the customer or the purpose.
  • Casa Santo Stefano has reasonable grounds to assume that the use of the hotel service may jeopardize the smooth business operations, the security or the reputation of Casa Santo Stefano in public, without this being attributable to the sphere of control or organization of Casa Santo Stefano.

In the event of justified withdrawal by Casa Santo Stefano, the customer shall not be entitled to claim damages.

8. Bookings through tour operators
For bookings made through a tour operator, the tour operator's general terms and conditions shall apply.

9. Children's prices
On request, a baby cot can be provided free of charge for children up to 3 years of age. Children up to their sixth birthday stay free of charge in their parents' bed. From 6 to 12 years of age, children stay in an extra bed for an additional charge of CHF 30.00 per night. From 12 to 15 years of age, the additional charge for an extra bed is CHF 40.00 per night.

10. Pets Dogs are allowed at Casa Santo Stefano by prior arrangement. Other pets are not permitted. Dogs are not allowed in the kitchen. During breakfast and dinner, dogs must remain quietly in their rooms.

Any damage caused by pets will be charged to the guest.

11. Liability / Duty of care
The guest room must be used with the utmost care by the customer. The customer is liable for any damage caused. Casa Santo Stefano accepts no liability for theft, etc., or in relation to services provided by third parties. Furthermore, Casa Santo Stefano is only liable for intentional or grossly negligent contractual or non-contractual direct damage. Any further liability is excluded. Guests who violate the smoking ban will be charged a cleaning fee of CHF 100.00 to cover the additional cleaning costs incurred.

12. Night's rest

In the interests of all guests, we ask you to be considerate and observe quiet hours in the building. Quiet hours are from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

13. Participation in activities and retreat programs

As part of retreats and individual stay packages, activities such as yoga, hikes, bike tours, body and breathing work and similar offers can be included or booked additionally. Some of these offers are organized and carried out directly by Albergo Santo Stefano SA, while others are organized by independent external providers.

Participation in all activities is voluntary and at your own risk. Guests are obliged to realistically assess their state of health and seek medical advice if necessary. Sufficient accident, health and liability insurance is the responsibility of the participants.

Albergo Santo Stefano SA acts solely as an intermediary for offers provided by external providers. The responsibility for content, organization and implementation lies entirely with the respective third-party providers. Albergo Santo Stefano SA accepts no liability for any resulting damages, unless there is intentional or grossly negligent behavior on the part of Albergo Santo Stefano SA or its vicarious agents.

13.1 Conducting retreats

The organization of retreats requires a group size that enables a harmonious retreat and group experience. If this is not the case, Albergo Santo Stefano SA reserves the right to cancel the retreat no later than 14 days prior to arrival.

In this case, payments already made for accommodation, meals, and any program items organized directly by Albergo Santo Stefano SA will be refunded in full. Further claims, in particular for travel, transport, or cancellation costs, are excluded. We recommend taking out travel cancellation insurance.


14. Final provisions
In addition to the General Terms and Conditions, other provisions and booking conditions may apply, which take precedence over the General Terms and Conditions. Changes or additions to the accepted offer or these General Terms and Conditions must be made in writing. Unilateral changes or additions by the customer are invalid. The place of performance and payment is the registered office of Casa Santo Stefano.
