Planning Retreats Together
Plan your next getaway to a special, historic spot in Malcantone.
In our three historic Ticino homes, we provide the setting for mindful retreats featuring personalized hospitality, vegetarian cuisine, a bright space for practice, and private places to retreat. The natural beauty of Malcantone—with its mountains, forests, and bodies of water—begins right outside our door.
For over 25 years, Casa Santo Stefano has been a place for yoga, meditation, mindfulness, bodywork, and holistic retreats. From your initial inquiry through to the retreat itself, we provide personalized support and draw on our experience to assist you with the planning, organization, and execution of your retreat. This rich history continues to shape the atmosphere of the house to this day and is reflected in our personal approach to hosting retreats.
A Space for Practice and Silence
The light-filled “Merlot” room, with its chestnut wood floor, is located in the main building and is ideal for yoga, meditation, mindfulness, and bodywork. Its 50 square meters comfortably accommodate up to 16 participants.
We are happy to provide a projector, flipcharts and jukeboxes on request.
Daily rental: CHF 80.00
Equipment included:
yoga mats, meditation cushions, blankets, straps, yoga blocks, and bolsters.
Depending on the concept, another room in the village may also be used. It is suitable, for example, for dance, music, creative workshops, lectures, or exhibitions.
Food and drink
For us, good food is an important part of a successful getaway. Our kitchen specializes in high-quality vegetarian dishes made with fresh ingredients that are as local and organic as possible. Upon request, we can also accommodate vegan or gluten-free dietary needs.
For retreat groups, we serve our Yogi Brunch in the morning, featuring hot and cold dishes, fruit, homemade dishes, and regional specialties.
For groups of ten or more, we treat our guests to carefully prepared meals from our kitchen every other evening. On the other evenings, we’re happy to make reservations at nearby grotti and osterie.
Our kitchen team prepares all meals with great care and expertise, providing the retreat with a varied, balanced, and wholesome menu.
- Light lunch: CHF 25.00
- Rich three-course dinner: CHF 42.00
- Packed lunch: CHF 17.00
- Kitchen use/group/meal: CHF 35.00
Room
Spread across our three historic Ticino houses, we offer 18 comfortable and lovingly furnished rooms in various categories and price ranges. The rooms provide a personal retreat. The bright loggias, kitchen-living rooms, and communal lounge areas create space for socializing, sharing experiences, and relaxing between program activities.
In our open-concept kitchens, we gather for a homemade breakfast, an afternoon snack, or a vegetarian dinner together. When the weather is nice, life at Casa moves outdoors. The terrace, with its covered pergola, and other cozy outdoor spaces invite you to linger, relax, and slow down.
Supplementary activities
The natural beauty of Malcantone invites you to enrich your retreat experience in every season: through walks through forests and villages, quiet moments by the water, hikes in the surrounding area, panoramic views of the Ticino countryside, or quiet practice under the open sky.
Malcantone is a peaceful, nature-filled location that is also easily accessible. Casa Santo Stefano is conveniently accessible from German-speaking Switzerland via public transportation.
Casa Santo Stefano also offers professional massages, which provide a soothing complement to your stay and allow for additional moments of relaxation.
Booking and procedure
We recommend planning your retreat well in advance, ideally twelve to eighteen months ahead of time. After you submit your inquiry, you’ll receive a non-binding quote with all the details regarding accommodations, meals, room rental, and organization. Together, we’ll put together a customized proposal that fits your vision and the needs of your participants.
The responsibilities are clearly divided. You handle course registrations and plan your retreat. We take care of room reservations and meals, and as your hosts, we ensure that all participants feel well taken care of from the moment they first contact us until their departure. Retreats at Casa Santo Stefano typically last three nights or longer and usually take place from Thursday through Sunday or from Sunday through Thursday. Longer stays are always welcome and provide an opportunity to delve even deeper into a topic. Cancellation policies and payment terms are clearly outlined in the offer.
We look forward to working with you to create a place where people can come, practice, and recharge.
