Responsible Hotels of Switzerland

For us, responsibility is part of being a host.

Since August 2026, Casa Santo Stefano has been a member of Responsible Hotels of Switzerland, a community of independently managed hotels that take responsibility for the environment and society while preserving their unique character.

In it, we recognize many things that also define our Casa.

For us, sustainability means, above all, treating what we already have with care—our old Ticino houses, the resources we need every day, and the natural environment and region in which we live.

Much of this has long been part of everyday life at the Casa. We cook and bake ourselves, buy organic and locally sourced products whenever possible, collaborate with people and businesses in the area, and carefully preserve and enhance our historic homes. Not everything is perfect, and there’s always room for improvement. For us, that’s all part of the experience.

At the same time, we value the exchange of ideas within the Responsible Hotels network. Each hotel brings its own history, experiences, and ideas to the table. We find it enriching to discover different perspectives, learn from one another, and gain new inspiration. These experiences help us stay curious and continue to develop the Casa.

For us, traveling responsibly also means making conscious choices, staying longer, getting to know the region, and appreciating what’s already there.
