Forest bathing in Ticino

A silent immersion in nature

In Malcantone, where the forest smells of earth and sun, forest bathing begins with the very first step. The rustling of the leaves, the steady breathing and the light between the chestnuts remind us how close relaxation can be if we take the time to notice.

What does forest bathing mean?

Shinrin Yoku, the Japanese word for forest bathing, literally means "immersing yourself in the atmosphere of the forest". It is not a technique, but an attitude: being present, opening your senses and allowing yourself to be carried by nature.

Forest bathing in Malcantone

The chestnut woods around Casa Santo Stefano offer a special setting for this. On quiet paths above Miglieglia, you can combine walking with breathing, mindfulness and amazement. It is often simple moments such as looking through the leaves, the light in the morning or the sound of a stream that bring inner peace.

Get moving

In our retreats, we combine forest bathing with yoga, meditation and conscious movement. It's not about achieving something, but about feeling, step by step, breath by breath.

If you would like to deepen this experience, we offer various retreats that combine forest bathing with yoga, mindfulness or poetry in the midst of the Malcantone countryside.
